Dr Georgia Karabatsos Appointed McKesson's Director of Clinical Quality
McKesson today announced that Dr Georgia Karabatsos has been appointed Director of Clinical Quality. In this role, Dr Karabatsos will oversee all clinical quality activities and clinical governance across the business.
“I’m very pleased to have Georgia on board. She has extensive experience in general practice as well as experience in education, research and evaluation and health policy which will serve as an outstanding foundation for high quality clinical care,” said Matthew Cullen, Co-President, McKesson Asia-Pacific.
“Georgia will work with McKesson’s Medical Advisors, Operations Managers and our Quality Division to ensure our clinical governance and quality processes continue at the very high levels expected by our clients and callers”.
Dr Karabatsos has been in general practice for 20 years and over the last 14 years has also worked in non clinical environments while maintaining a part time practice in suburban Melbourne. Her non clinical roles have included general practice, hospital liaison, education (both undergraduate and post graduate) through the University of Melbourne, Royal Melbourne Hospital Clinical School and the Australian Paediatric Review program. She has been a Medical Advisor working within McKesson’s health advice and disease management operations for several years.Dr Karabatsos said she was pleased to take on this role with such a dynamic and forward thinking company that takes the lead in innovation in healthcare.
